Meet Rashied

Rashied volunteers to support our Health and Wellbeing class on Wednesdays and he's been a big hit with our students! He's connected incredibly well with everyone and his easy going attitude hasmade students laugh and smile with ease.

As well as supporting the class on Wednesdays, Rashied has gone above and beyond to be on hand where support is needed. For example, he joined Tia’s Thursday class for their trip to the Herne Hill Velodrome with Wheels for Wellbeing, where having an extra person supporting was invaluable to the running of the day.

Rashied is a good volunteer for a number of reasons. He constantly uses initiative through day, helping me to manage the class. He interacts really well with students, maintaining eye contact with them and giving them quality responses. All the students love him.

Volunteering at Share has been very important for Rashied who described his past as being  full of challenges and mistakes. He applied to volunteer with Share as part of him changing his life for the better. What struck him most during his time volunteering with us is the way that students' faces light up when they see him, he said, 'it makes you feel really appreciated for being there'.

I couldn’t progress with my life if I wasn’t giving back. Share trusted me, and allowed me to grow, and that’s priceless.
