Who we are

Share Community is a registered charity dedicated to empowering adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs to live happier, healthier, and more independent lives. We believe in expanding choices for every student who comes to us by providing a range of inclusive programmes, activities and opportunities aimed at personal development and improving independent living skills. And we provide vocational courses for students who want to acquire specific job related training and qualifications.

Share was founded in 1972 and is based in south London: our head office is near Clapham Junction and we have sites in Tooting, Brixton, and Vauxhall. We work with around 170 people per year including residents based in the London Boroughs of Wandsworth, Lambeth, Southwark, Croydon and Merton.

We celebrate individuality and we’re committed to providing person-centred support. We work closely with every student to help them identify and work towards their personal goals, so that they feel included and valued and have the freedom to achieve their ambitions.

We also run social enterprises in catering and horticulture, giving our students the chance to learn valuable, practical work skills in a safe and supported environment, whilst providing services to our community.

In everything we do, we aim to provide a nurturing secure environment that fosters a sense of safety and empowerment, helping our students to grow in confidence, make new friends, and develop skills for life.
