New event to tackle health inequalites through welfare benefits support
We're pleased to announce a series of new events designed to empower people with learning disabilities and autism with the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate the welfare benefits system effectively, thereby improving their health outcomes.
We're running these as part of an initiative funded by the NHS SW London Integrated Care Board and managed by Wandsworth Care Alliance to prevent inequalities by helping people to live well and stay well.
Adults with learning disabilities and autism, their families and carers, and social care professionals are welcome to join us and learn about:
- How to understand and access welfare benefits;
- Local organisations that offer support;
- How to use benefits for better health outcomes.
The first events are as follows:
Tuesday 25th June, 10.30am to 3.30pm - Black Prince Community Hub, 5 Beaufoy Walk, Off Black Prince Road, Lambeth, SE11 6AA
Friday 28th June, 10.30am to 3.30pm - Share Community, 64 Altenburg Gardens, SW11 1JL
Anyone wishing to find out more or attend either event should email wellbeing@sharecommunity.org.uk.
