Funding from Walking and Cycling Grants London helps Share students be more active
Share has been awarded £9,914 by Walking and Cycling Grants London to support our Get Out and Get Active project, encouraging students to walk and cycle more. Walking and Cycling Grants London is a programme funded by Transport for London in partnership with The London Marathon Foundation and managed by the environmental regeneration charity Groundwork London.
The grant will support our students to become more active, improve their health and wellbeing, and integrate more in the community. So far we've stepped out to enjoy regular walks, and taken part in inclusive cycling sessions with Wheels for Wellbeing, a charity that aims to remove barriers to cycling. Everyone loved trying out all the different bikes.
Danny said, ‘It was good, I liked to cycle in a circle in the velodrome. I liked the low bike with three wheels.’
