Local school raises funds for Share

We’d like to say a big thank you to Eaton House the Manor Girls’ School who recently marked Children’s Mental Health Week and raised over £340 for Share. Inspired by this year’s theme of ‘Let’s Connect’, their pupils created beautiful postcards with inspirational and kind messages that they sent to Share students, including reminders to ‘follow your dreams’ and ‘be positive'.

Our students were delighted to receive the postcards and responded by creating and sending their own artwork back to the school.

Place2Be is a children’s mental health charity supporting the wellbeing of pupils, families and staff in schools. They released data ahead of Children’s Mental Health Week highlighting that a lack of meaningful connection is a key driver in loneliness and anxiety, so establishing healthy rewarding friendships and connections with others is important.

During the week, the Girl’s School also held a ‘Wear it Green Day’, wearing a touch of green with their uniform. The green ribbon has become an international symbol of mental health awareness, and wearing one is a way to show people that you care about their wellbeing.

We believe that making connections in the community benefits everyone, and is a fundamental way of improving self-esteem and independence for disabled people. We’ve loved connecting with Eaton House the Manor Girl’s School and we’re so grateful for their thoughtful fundraising that will help us to keep delivering our services.
